Mowat Park is a girls’-only high school facing significant challenges that urgently require your support. Classified as a quintile 5 school, the school receives minimal government funding despite serving a community where many parents struggle to afford school fees. Most of the learners come from impoverished backgrounds, making it difficult to cover the essential costs of maintaining and improving our facilities.

The school was hit hard by the devastating floods of 2022, which caused severe damage to many of its classrooms. In addition, it’s battling a woodborer infestation that has further compromised the structure of the school, posing safety risks for our learners. Immediate extermination and repair efforts are critical to prevent further deterioration of the infrastructure.

Furthermore, the school aims to provide a holistic education, access to technology has become a pressing need. The goal is to equip all our FET learners with computer skills, yet the school currently lacks the resources to offer adequate computer lessons.

This is an appeal to everyone who can assist in helping the school raise funds for three urgent projects: exterminating the woodborer, repairing the collapsing infrastructure, and purchasing computers for our learners.

Every contribution, no matter how small, will go a long way in helping the school create a safe and conducive learning environment for the young women it serves.
